Biography of Ivan Nagorniak
Ivan Nagorniak is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, dental implantologist, PhD in Medical Sciences, international lecturer, researcher, and founder of his own dental clinic in Kyiv. For more than 15 years, his professional work has combined clinical practice, scientific research, teaching, and the introduction of modern international standards in dentistry.
Ivan Nagorniak's professional journey began back in his school years. After graduating with a gold medal from Gymnasium No. 4 in Chernivtsi, he enrolled at the O.O. Bohomolets National Medical University, which he successfully completed in 2007, earning a degree in dentistry. It was during this period that his drive toward surgical dentistry and complex reconstructive procedures took shape.
After university, Ivan Nagorniak continued his education at the Ukrainian Military Medical Academy, where he completed his internship and later a master's program, earning a Master's degree in Medicine. This military medical training became a solid foundation for his professional development, shaping a systematic approach to diagnostics, treatment planning, and complex clinical cases. A commitment to continuous professional growth became an integral part of his career: over the years he earned further specializations in surgical dentistry, prosthetic dentistry, and radiology. This comprehensive training helped him form the modern interdisciplinary approach he applies today when treating patients — from the initial consultation and digital diagnostics through to full functional and esthetic rehabilitation. Alongside his clinical work, Ivan Nagorniak was also actively engaged in teaching, serving for several years as a teaching assistant for dental technician advanced-training courses at the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry of the P. L. Shupyk National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education, as well as at the Department of Dentistry of the International Academy of Ecology and Medicine. Working with students and young doctors became an important stage in his professional development and allowed him to gain considerable experience in medical education. His scientific work built naturally on his clinical practice: in 2013, Ivan Nagorniak enrolled in postgraduate studies at the Department of Pathophysiology, and in 2017 he successfully defended his PhD dissertation at Kharkiv National Medical University, earning the degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences (PhD). His research focuses on modern methods of dental implantation, bone tissue regeneration, reconstructive surgery, and the refinement of clinical treatment protocols.
In 2016, Ivan Nagorniak founded his own dental clinic and training center in Kyiv. The clinic operates according to the international quality management standard DIN EN ISO 9001:2015, confirming a high level of care organization, patient safety, and continuous improvement of internal processes. Patients are treated here using modern digital technologies, international clinical protocols, and an individualized approach to every clinical case.
Since 2019, Ivan Nagorniak's dental clinic has served as a clinical base for the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the Ukrainian Military Medical Academy. The clinic hosts the training of military doctors and practical classes, while also providing highly qualified dental care to service members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
International professional collaboration is an important part of his work. Ivan Nagorniak takes part in joint clinical and educational projects with leading European manufacturers of implant systems and medical devices, helping to bring modern technologies and international standards into Ukrainian dental practice.
As an international lecturer and practicing doctor, Ivan Nagorniak regularly conducts lectures, masterclasses, hands-on courses, and individual training programs for dentists. His educational work covers dental implantology, oral and maxillofacial surgery, bone regeneration, and modern reconstructive treatment techniques.
Scientific work remains an integral part of his professional activity. Ivan Nagorniak is the author and co-author of numerous scientific publications in international specialized journals, covering modern implantology, quality management in dentistry, and reconstructive surgery.
Beyond his clinical and scientific work, Ivan Nagorniak takes an active role in developing the professional community. He serves as Executive Secretary of the Association of Implantologists of Ukraine, is a member of Technical Committee No. 181 "Dentistry and Quality Management Systems," and is responsible for PRRC (Person Responsible for Regulatory Compliance) at international companies operating in the medical device industry.
